Suncoast Care exists to build hope for the future by providing for the needs of our community today. You can make a real change, by donating financially or volunteering your time. Suncoast Care is a Deductible Gift Recipient and donations are tax-deductible. Your generous donation of time or funds can dramatically change lives for the better.
The Daily Bread offers a nutritious three-course meal in a safe and friendly environment. This is held two nights a week at the St Luke’s Luther Hall, 10 Sydney Street, Nambour. The majority of the cooking for our ‘soup’ kitchen, The Daily Bread, is done by schools across the Sunshine Coast, with some even incorporating it into their curriculum! This gives students the opportunity to see the need in our community for themselves and to be part of the solution. Suncoast Care also donates food to other soup kitchens on the Sunshine Coast and has a hand in providing 200 meals a week to those in need.
The Daily Bread ‘soup’ kitchen runs Monday and Wednesday nights at 5 pm. On average we serve around 60 people each night. This is a great avenue for those of us who wish to serve, however may have less time to offer. Volunteer shifts are 3pm till 6:30pm – volunteer hours can be flexible to suit your availability.
Volunteers make a difference
At Suncoast Care we love volunteers. We have an average of 20 volunteers a day and we cannot do the work without their help. A variety of roles become available at different times. These include store workers, shelf packers, checkout operators, baristas, helpers at soup kitchen and truck or delivery drivers. Download and complete an application form if you would like to apply.
