Our Youth Team

YHIGH is run & coordinated by a team of over 70 leaders.

Each of these leaders are over the age of 18, & hold up to date and valid blue-cards.

We also have a security team that help keep the teenagers safe during our program time of 6pm-8.30pm

What to Expect …

YHIGH meets every Friday night of the school term from 6pm - 8:30pm. These programs are free entry every week and there is no need to sign up in advance!

Here is a few of the things you can expect from a night at YHIGH …

Hangtime

Before we head into the service at 7, we hang out, enjoy food from our cafe, play sport & games, and catch up on the week.

This is a perfect opportunity to hang with your friends, or meet new ones!

Praise & Games

Each week we start the program with high energy praise, followed by engaging games!

Message & Worship

Each week, one of our team will deliver an inspiring gospel based message, followed by a reflective time of prayer & worship.

Connect Groups

We want to help you or your young person grow into who God has called them to be! At YHIGH, every student is placed into a connect group with students in the same grade.

PYP is our ‘Post Youth Party’ where all the Grade 10, 11 & 12 students + leaders go out to enjoy dinner together after the service.

Each week we are at a different location which is revealed through Social Media & on the Parent’s Hub

New to YHIGH?

We’d love to make your first experience at Yhigh as welcoming as possible! At our sign in desk, we have a separate sign in space for new students so that we can grab your details as fast as possible.

Once signed in, each new student will have the opportunity to meet their connect group leader who will have a welcome gift for them and will be able to introduce them to other students their age and help them get connected in at Yhigh!

YHIGH Parent/Guardian Agreement

Please read, acknowledge and update your details at the end of the agreement.

Each student must have a parental/gaurdian acknowledgement of this agreement to attend Yhigh.

  • Dear Parent/Guardian,

YHIGH is a Christian volunteer organisation that is not government funded, but aims to be an uplifting community where students from across the Sunshine Coast can come and grow in their faith and step into their God-Given potential.

The extent of the service we offer is to provide a Christian environment for young people to learn about Jesus.  Our vision is to see your teenager have their life positively impacted, and then for them to go out and be a part of positively changing the lives of others. We do this through encouraging, equipping and building students up in their faith in Jesus Christ.

While our Friday night events are not a teenage-minding program, the safety of your teenager is of the upmost importance to us.  We have a number of security protocols in place to maximise your teenager’s safety and to ensure all students have the opportunity to enjoy the Friday night event.

    This includes:

    • Adult to children ratios

    • Designated security team

    • Fences around the outdoor set up with leaders monitoring entry and exit points

    • Student sign in process upon entry

    • Wide Spread CCTV Camera Coverage

    • A zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour (this includes; violence, threats of violence, inappropriate language, illegal activity and overtly disruptive behaviour)

Although we do our best to minimise risks, we cannot guarantee a 100% risk-free environment.

By allowing your teenager to attend our Friday night event, you agree:

    1. Your teenager remains your responsibility at all times

    2. To not leave your teenager unattended on the premises outside of the event times (ordinarily 6pm-8:30pm Friday unless otherwise specified)

    3. To instruct your teenager to not leave the premises before the end of the event, unless signed out by yourself or another legal guardian

    4. That we are unable to restrain a teenager from leaving the premises if they are intent on doing so, and that if your child does intentionally leave the premises before the end of our program without permission, we may contact a parent/guardian and advice the teenager will no longer be able to attend YHIGH for a period of time

    5. To instruct your teenager to comply with all lawful directions given to them by any of the leadership team and to comply with the below behavioural expectations

While your teenager is at a YHIGH event, it is expected that they show respect and follow any lawful instruction given by a leader. The following are the basic expectations of all teenagers attending, and they will be asked to agree as follows:

    • I must sign in each week and provide the correct emergency contact information

    • I must stay within the event boundaries until 8:30pm, or am otherwise picked up by a parent/guardian

    • I will show respect to all leaders and students in attendance at YHIGH

    • I understand that YHIGH and the Suncoast Campus is a drug / alcohol / vape / smoking free zone

    • There is zero tolerance for antisocial behaviour, which includes; violence and threats of violence, and all incidents of this kind will be reported to the police

    • If I do not follow the safety guidelines at YHIGH to the best of my ability, my parents/guardians may be contacted and I may be required to leave either temporarily or permanently

We thank you for your support and partnership in assisting us to create a fun, life giving and encouraging environment for teenagers to grow in.

If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to come and chat with us on a Friday night.

    Kind Regards,

    Jayce Gorsch & Skye Prince
